Sprinting, like 50 meter to 400 meter interval workouts 3 times a week, seems like it’s easily the most efficient and well rounded exercise for longevity and looking good. Why don’t more people do it?

This is basically a football and track conditioning drill. I used to love it. Simple and effective. But it’s a young man’s exercise. I’ve heard it’s terrible for men 35+. I’m assuming joint stress is the downside.

You can easily hurt yourself if you are overweight, have shitty / improperly tied shoes, or don’t warm up. If you resolve these before starting though, it’s an amazing and safe workout.

HIT workouts are best performed at maximal (most nontrained athletes have no idea how hard maximal is) intensity. There is no way to achieve that without 15+ minutes warmup.
