If you’re in the wealth accumulation phase of your life, I think buying a home is a terrible decision (in most cases). Prove me wrong. Seriously. I’m not being rhetorical. I want to see if there’s math that says otherwise.

I personally lean toward Sam’s POV but I also know of people who had built up nice equity in their houses and invested it in a business and blew it up, in some instances the housing value doubled in the meantime. Should focus on how to make the decision, not the decision itself.
I think me and Eric agree. Maybe it's a good investment. Maybe it isn't. But...if it makes you happy because you can grow your family, have community, and other stuff...then who cares about the $$$ - do it.

And also one reason I’ve bounced around the idea of a LearnVest that teaches you how to think about your situation vs prescribes you info from the CFP curriculum. Kahn academies videos are probably the closest thing to it right now.
