If you’re in the wealth accumulation phase of your life, I think buying a home is a terrible decision (in most cases). Prove me wrong. Seriously. I’m not being rhetorical. I want to see if there’s math that says otherwise.

The key factor that can swing the balance is Risk. I take the middle ground here. But for the sake of discussion, owning a home takes a big risk out of the equation. Becoming disabled is not uncommon. Carrying debt is a stupid risk that most millionaires simply don’t do.

When renting become higher than paying the loan. Do you include that extra money in buying others assets for example ? Could change the simulation.
