Just spoke with my dr. She works a lot with homeless and addicts. She said since covid started, SF homeless have been given hotel rooms - they've seen a massive uptick in drug overdoses. Her hypothesis: hotel rooms made it easier to do drugs and easier to be lonely.

Step 1 is recognizing drug addiction is a disease. Without that, we cant have the right treatment plan.

I don't agree. When I had issues, I didn't give two shits what you called it. It was a problem. And it was up to me to want to get better. Disease, disorder, bad habit. Whatever. Call it what you want. The actions to improve are the same.
