Building a new city is super interesting VCs are discussing funding them: @justGLew said: "We’re actively investing in charter cities and enabling technology for new cities @bedrock, having closed our first investment in this important emerging area this week."

@JTLonsdale also said he's eager to do more here. I know very, very little about this. What I do know, or at least feel, is that most cities are not set up in ideal ways for how we live now. What doesn't exist now but will in 10-20 years: I think new cities.

Here's some brief tidbits: 1. A charter city is a city in which the governing system is defined by the city's own charter document rather than by general law. 2. As of 21 January 2020, 125 of California's 478 cities are charter cities. SF, Oakland, Sac, LA - all charter cities.
