I know very, very little about this.
What I do know, or at least feel, is that most cities are not set up in ideal ways for how we live now.
What doesn't exist now but will in 10-20 years: I think new cities.
Here's some brief tidbits: 1. A charter city is a city in which the governing system is defined by the city's own charter document rather than by general law. 2. As of 21 January 2020, 125 of California's 478 cities are charter cities. SF, Oakland, Sac, LA - all charter cities.
3. Madagascar and Honduras have considered creating new charter cities with new govs - they've since backed out. 4. A similar topic is planned communities, which is a community carefully planned from its inception and is typically constructed on previously undeveloped land.
5. Shaker Heights in Ohio is an example. Two brothers in the early 1900s envisioned the first garden styled suburb in Ohio...and then they made it. This really caught my eye. It's a pretty grand idea. But I'd bet my life, that in the next 10-20 years, we'll see it Thoughts?
