A few years ago, I was absolutely against remote. I've changed my mind. Last week we officially ended our lease in Cali. Still have an office in Austin, but many of them are remote too. We'll see how this works out...
Reasoning: 1. SF rent is too expensive 2. People have enjoyed so far and we get shit done. We've made more money this last quarter than ever before. 3. Focus is way easier. I used to love open offices. I hate them now! 4. It's easier to hire. Convincing people to move to CA sux

You should use Officely (http://getofficely.com ) allows you to manage a hybrid team of both remote and in the office workers
I'm curious to see what city you end in, as I'm interested in remote work myself. The west coast is appealing for me for the outdoors. Are -any- CA cities near the national parks more affordable but also still livable compared to SF? Could consider Oregon and Washington I guess.
