I don't think enough people are leaving the Bay Area to ultimately change things But I am shocked at how many are leaving

It is hard for adults to make friends outside the office. You don’t know your neighbors. They have their own routines and you’re a stranger. I remember it taking 3-4 months just to get invited to a party. Finding a babysitter in a new city was a whole new game.
Many, perhaps most, of the people coming here to make it and now leaving, do not have kids. The game here is made up mostly of people without kids as career is more important.

probably true, but at least 2 of the CEOs I know who left since Mar 15 have kids and went back to where families were

Definitely makes it easier if you’re returning to some type of support structure.
