Yes — I agree, everyone wants the truth. And most publishers mean well. But selling a subscription and serving the truth are divergent goals. And even if you do a great job, you’re forced to artificially limit the impact your work can have in order to charge for it.

This is why I think there will always be free and paid. Ex: NYT is paid. But when they make stuff, all the free people cite them.
