Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. I don't see it. Most people who live in cities like SF or NY love the lifestyle. Not moving to avoid some taxes.
part of the lifestyle is making tons of money. but if you can do that elsewhere, that's cool

No one ever asked me much much my rent is before making me an offer. People (at least those working at large tech co's) get paid based on the value of their skills. Start-ups pay in equity. Some companies will adjust pay lower for certain types remote workers. Supply/demand.
