Also, it doesn’t have to be maliciously motivated: they may have thought they were doing these folks a favor. Just like white slave owners thought they were doing the slaves a favor by feeding and clothing them. The language of favors has been used for oppression since always.

Sorry, I’m confused. Your constructive criticism is what: I shouldn’t use my white male privilege to help POC/women? Or that I have an obligation to also use it to help other white males? Maybe I missed the point, sorry about that.
