I was 100% against remote. Without commute I'm way more refreshed, happier, and absolutely work harder. I can't remember ever being home by 5, but now working out around that time, dinner/chill, then working until super late is way more fun and productive.

Interesting. Historically sales has often had one of the highest percentage of remote employees in B2B world. Is there a reason other than team spirit your team needs shared space? Not challenging it, just genuinely curious. Personally I’ve found same thing as you recently.
Mostly team spirit. Salespeople tend to be loudish, extroverted, enjoy others company. In our case, small rituals like gongs, leaderboards, help morale and thus revenue. Whereas product creators, operators, whatever need a quieter time. At least in our case.

Makes sense. The “in-between” work times are probably hardest to replicate. The leaderboards, celebration rituals, etc that are directly tied to the job/performance all feel pretty easy to translate to remote tools/workspaces.

Feels like the “in-between” work elements are the hardest to replicate. Leaderboards/celebratory rituals actually feel like they could translate pretty smoothly to remote work tools.... But “virtual” high-fives and hugs will never replicate what it feels like to win together.
