I don’t think it’s “can’t”. Just more likely. You can become a movie star in any city. Might help to be in LA. But CAN be done anywhere.

I can't agree. Over the past decade not being in SF and, worse, being fully distributed were both seen as nearly unworkable disadvantages.

I think you can build huge companies anywhere. Likely will be happier outside SF. But you wanna be a rare $10b companies, starting in SF is undeniably better. Try to raise $10m from Missouri or Mississippi. Try starting a k-pop band in Wyoming. Possible? Ya. Harder? Ya.

Absolutely. I'm pointing out that it's easier to have conviction in that belief in the present day than say even a few years ago. Instead of it being harder to build a category leader in Missouri, it was probably *much* harder ten or even five years ago.
