Webflow gives employees a $1,000 bonus the first time they take a vacation that's 5 days or longer. What are some other ways companies are helping employees take a break and prevent burnout?

Is it just me, or is that some soft ass stuff right there. I love Webflow and that company. But...paying people to take time off and giving them PTO? I feel like saying: "hey, take a vacay" will totally do the trick.

Doing the trick vs being outstanding which one is more appealing in a competitive market ?

I just don't think it's outstanding. I love bryant and co. I just think moneys best better elsewhere. IF i worked there, I'd be like ok, let's spend money wisely here. If we do trick vs being outstanding, pay 10x market rate. I think do the trick is sufficient

The idea is to put your money where your mouth is: "we value work/life balance and encourage healthy PTO" is easily said, following through with something to show you actually mean it is on another level. The $1k isn't in lieu of paying market rate, it's a statement of intent!

I feel like you can put your money where your mouth is by saying take a vacay and letting them.

That is what happens; if you want a vacation, take it. If it’s your first one over 5 days long, here’s an extra $1,000. Why the cynicism?

I said my points. And again, I love Webflow as a product, their culture seems cool, and the team seems amazing. I also have hung with the founders and they’re wonderful people. Just don’t agree with this.

Do you mind explaining what you don’t agree with? It’s an extra perk that’s relatively low impact for the company and high impact for the team member taking a vacation.

I think it can contribute to creating an entitled culture. Something the Bay Area has way too much of.

Well fortunately on that note, Webflow is roughly 70% remote!
We also have a culture with a strong emphasis on things like being kind and being honest; entitlement is far from something you'd expect to see from people who work here.

I’m not saying web flow is that. But many others are. And so I’m allergic to this stuff. But again, I’m not insulting wf. I like y’all.
