If you aren't the best in the world at what you write about, you should not have a strictly paid newsletter. You are better off using a newsletter as your top of funnel to drive people to other monetization opportunities.

I agree. It depends on who thinks your content is worth the money and will sign up. If we focus on being “the best in the world” we’ll barely have any content generators. False dichotomy of best in something vs earning from it.

No that’s not true. I am not saying don’t create content. I’m just saying don’t only create paid content. Create free content on the web, along with paid.
