Many companies have convinced themselves they own their audience with email newsletters, it's the exact same dynamic as Insta, search, and YouTube. You're one Gmail algorithm tweak from going to 2% opens.

disagree. You can die from a dolphin bite or shark bite. But one is more likely & dangerous biggest change in 20 years was the priority inbox tabs. Even then, the email startups survived

Not huge diff. Open rates range from 45%-65% each day today. Newsletters are not perfect. gmail can change. That's not good. But it's one of the best. Also - look at how many changes gmails made in the last 20 years. VERY FEW.
