This isn't a dig at Patreon cuz for some people, I like the idea. But... If you're a content creator + turning it into a money-making business, charging positioning it as a donation is a joke (most of the time). If you create good shit, ask for $ in exchange for your service.

Definition of a patron: a person chosen, named, or honored as a special guardian, protector, or supporter. Definition of customer: one that purchases a commodity or service. Get customers. Not patrons.

Have been thinking about this shift in mindset too, and actually started building a tool/platform I'd much rather pay for access to a creator's content channel than send money to a creator. The ask is weird.
