I know a Google guy - first 20 employees (trying to be vague)- worth around ~$500m who once asked me to bid on a pair of old skis he was selling off eBay to jam up the price by $10. I don't think you beat that.
did it work? how about mike jordan making a $5 bet and forcing the loser to go up to the hotel room to get the money.
I guess he made an extra few bucks on the old skis. Left me wandering for a very long time why he was waisting so much time for so little gain. And it finally hit me, it's not about the $$. It was about adding another win. No matter what. No matter how. They got to win it all.
