I did some research and approximately 100% of cereal ads in the 90s were animal mascots that were addicted to the cereal but couldn't get ahold of it.

If I were an entrepreneur in the world of those cereal ads, seems like an obvious arbitrage to buy from the kids (who have access to the cereal somehow) and sell to the crazy animals who wanted it at a huge markup.
