It reads to me like a deeper dislike that’s pouring out. Like media reflexively dunks on tech, but it really backfired w CV. Rather than back down and lose face, they resort to ad hominem. Tech response is deep seeded anger over constant dunking.
What's funny is media IS tech. VCs fund most of these companies or they're owned by tech billionaires. The tech journos are techies. Went to elite uni. Everyone's the same. Yet, they was an us vs them thing because it seems cool to not be on the insider crowd (but they r insde)

Guess it depends how you define tech. Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the possibilities of tech? Do you see your purpose as revealing truth or building products/the future? Do you hold options in your co? Agreed at a high level they're the same, but identity is different.
