At the time, that was 36 months of runway. I think 12 months should’ve done it. It didn’t. I loved (still do) when people were transparent about finances. It helped me learn. So there’s my transparent insight for the day.

liquid savings or retirement included?

I didn’t have a 401k until like two years ago at 27 when we made one. I literally didn’t know what it was and had never been employed. I also knew I’d go years without income so wanted cash.

What’s your primary lens to view money now / milestones etc?

Mainly whatever’s most exciting. The thrill of scheming is fun. But also wanting to spoil the fuck outta everyone in my family and circle. My rich friends always spoiled me and it was amazing.

Did you spend that $100k when you got it or did that become your “emergency fund” and you only spent money you earned after that? Also, would you tell entrepreneurs to save $100k like you did or spend the money on yourself/business?
-
I started my first business when I had like $1k. I started my first internet company at 21 when I had $28k (full time, no job). You can start with little. 12 months helps. But lack of money via internet doesn’t have to be issue.
