I think all press is good press and if you do a good deed, try to get press from it.

i guess you could ask how many of the laid off people would he hire back if they do end up raising the reported fundraising round

Yeah, it's just interesting messaging. On one hand, he's saying he's letting people go because of slowing growth. On the other, they're raising 250m at a significantly higher valuation.
