To start, you need space. I have a garage in Glen Park just outside the city but only a 10 min train ride from downtown. The mats are the big part. They're horse stall mats from Tractor Supply. They're what pro gyms use. They cost $40 for 6x4 mathttps://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/4-ft-x-6-ft-x-3-4-in-thick-rubber-stall-mat …

My squat rack, bench, jump box, and glute-ham machine are from Titan Fitness on Amazon. It's a Chinese knockoff of Rogue fitness, which is considered one of the best. A great rack is only $300-$400! The quality is very high for the price.pic.twitter.com/CAPhzrAl6w

I also have a sauna. This was a wedding gift! New, it was $950 from Amazon. Mine's infrared and gets to 150 degrees. Infrared is second-tier to normal saunas. But it's pretty good.https://www.amazon.com/Dynamic-Venice-2-person-Infrared-Sauna/dp/B00L12UM40/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=sauna+barcelona&qid=1586799905&sr=8-1 …

So if you move to a less popular neighborhood where you can get a garage, it's pretty easy to make. My one suggestions is get nice-ish stuff. You can buy it used. But its for sure worth it because you'll actually use it!

Oh yes. Mirrors. I have mirrors on the wall. Sounds douchey, but I don't care: working out shirtless is awesome. Having a mirror helps you see progress and form. The mirrors are mounted on my wall. I paid $100-$150 for like 6 feet of mirrors: https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Fab-Glass-and-Mirror-24-in-x-36-in-Rectangle-Beveled-Polish-Frameless-Wall-Mirror-with-Hooks-MRec24x36BE6MM/304316589?mtc=Shopping-BA-F_HDH-G-D59-59_35_WALL_DECOR-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA-NA-NA-Mirrors&cm_mmc=Shopping-BA-F_HDH-G-D59-59_35_WALL_DECOR-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA-NA-NA-Mirrors-71700000053144883-58700005100403804-92700049453253402&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI87aG8_vl6AIV_z6tBh3-zArjEAQYASABEgIDVvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds …

And I know have weighted vests, gym rings, punching bag, kettlebells, medicine balls and other stuff. These are mostly just gifts from wife, friends family for xmas, wedding, bdays. But it's added up to a ton of great stuff. Like
@_jacksmith always gives me great gifts!Show this thread -
If it matters, my garage is 24 by 12. So it's a nice size. Also lucky that it's got a very high ceiling. Like 18 feet.

Do you workout solo? If so, are you afraid to max out w/out having a spotter? I'd be concerned about safety.

My wife's in there. I rarely bench. Mostly dumbells. Those are easy to drop if too heavy. My squat rack has safety bars so I can easy drop that too. So no, I'm not scared. I workout alone mostly. Sometimes friends come over. Or my wife and I workout at same time.
