I built a proper gym at home. Like proper rubber mats, squat racks, dumbbells up to 120, mirrors, benches, even a sauna (all in San Francisco). Was easier to make than people think. And so amazing. Do it right. And it’s great. Perk: workout shirtless and wearing whatever

No. The basics maybe $2k-3k. I bought some stuff used.

IMO it's less about having a really good home gym than the whole experience of getting out of the house, change of scenery, some socializing, getting motivated by seeing others working out / in good shape.
