CEO of a 400+ employee business says WFH is working well, he may not renew his SF lease to save $10m a year (office + lunches etc) and instead do a couple of all-hands offsites a year (much cheaper). Lots of others must be thinking similarly- CRE could be permanently altered.

This virus will be the absolute end of SF. People will not come back. Nor will companies.

I don’t think so. SF will always be able to adapt. We have a shortage of housing so that could be adapted to housing faster. There will be office space for people to go and interact but my guess is it will be substantially reduced need with WFH becoming more normal.

SF has been failing to adapt for 10 years now, dude.

May be slow but not “the end” - arc of history is long :-) this city has been doing that since the 1800s - doesn’t mean it shouldn’t move faster now

While I agree SF has huge shortcomings, it's still superior to every city if your goal is to build wealth through startups, even though it's declining.
