Yeah, but that doesn't happen. Trump said he could murder a guy in public and people would still love him. New data -> same outcome. That's a cult.

So Trump *can't* change his mind but De Blasio can. I do think his support is pretty cultish, but I don't think this is a particularly compelling argument against him. There are better examples.

Sure. But a) we're not discussing him b) if you don't like him, don't vote for De Blasio when he runs for president c) just because A does it, doesn't mean B can do it and it's ok. Both have to be wrong or right.
