I have this rule: first close people then community then the state where I live
then the country that I live and the one that I am from including those brands that I like, then other countries that I have some connections and finally everyone else.

I think a lot of people would love to buy American. The price (on the tag) is just too high for many.

I agree. For a few times, I'm willing to pay more. Now I think I will pay more, but for more things...just because it's made in America. But I get many cannot.

Welcome to the club. If we can buy local, we buy local. However, my Californa designed iPhone probably is 99% produced in China. Nothing against both, it's harder to buy local than you would think. Also because many local firms are not great at customer care.
