Other context -they had no other nice options (my parent's case, who migrated). Now a poor software engineer could work at Google&have nice things for their families,or start startup at higher risks, giving up on the things they could have-those that privileged people have anyway – at Oxford

Or they refuse to face the option of failure. Regardless my point still stands: you either are bold enough to try it or you’re not. No shame either way. But call it what it is.
