Her point was that taking risks usually is from priviledge -if you're privileged to being able to take risks,it's not a bold move. Not a complaint -it's just something to be aware of when some people give advice which may not be applicable as their circumstances are not the same
? Tell that to any immigrant corner store or restaurant owner. Or one of the hundred of thousands of small businesses in America.

Other context -they had no other nice options (my parent's case, who migrated). Now a poor software engineer could work at Google&have nice things for their families,or start startup at higher risks, giving up on the things they could have-those that privileged people have anyway – at Oxford

Or they refuse to face the option of failure. Regardless my point still stands: you either are bold enough to try it or you’re not. No shame either way. But call it what it is.
