As someone wanting to start a company but has ZERO safety net, I think about this often. I grew up poor and don’t have a circle of wealthy Friends & Family. Her point was that taking risks usually is from priviledge -if you're privileged to being able to take risks,it's not a bold move. Not a complaint -it's just something to be aware of when some people give advice which may not be applicable as their circumstances are not the same

Entrepreneurship isn't actually about taking bold risks. It's about taking calculated risks. And unfortunately for most Americans the system has been setup to be riskier for women, people of color and those who don't come from wealth.
