In San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities to live in the world, the school district’s budget was just cut by $26mil for next year. Schools are already understaffed and teachers are spread thin. With layoffs, classes will get bigger. Something is clearly broken here.

There are families and kids in SF. They are not in the places where you are hanging out.

Where do you think I hang out?

There’s 55,000 students in 160 schools in SFUSD. Compare to NYC where there are 1.1mil students in 1600 schools. SFUSD is very small, and still can’t get funded. Part of my wife’s salary comes from a grant from Salesforce. And there’s a serious understaffing problem.

Wut? Where in the city are you hanging out SoMa or FiDi? Few people with families live there and if they do they’re in a high rise condo. Everyone else is spread out west and south.
