Thoughts from 2019: 1/ every business is becoming an eCom retailer 2/ specialists are at a disadvantage, generalists are not 3/ good ads are data-driven. Game-changing advertising is creative and timely. 4/ Constraints breed creativity. Sometimes, it's better to grow slowly.

Additional thoughts. 5/ some of the best thinkers are outside the mainstream spotlight 6/ great community builders will earn top engineering salaries 7/ audience first, then product 8/ the smaller the convo, the more nuanced it remains 9/ and curiosity > domain expertise

I think you’re right except for 2. Generalists are needed for early stage or starting. But the world will always have room for specialists. In fact, finding someone world class at one thing is very tough. But they’ll always have jobs.

fees to help their world class specialists understand why their jobs weren't as effective as once projected.

Doesn’t mean their skills are useless, could just be a mismatch. There’s a big shortage of people who are world class at one or two things.
