Good for Buttigieg. Hopefully, it was a great event. Don't understand the haters here.

I hope he was able to fly private to Napa

Likely. Many presidential candidates get them donated. It's an easy way to save time and prioritize more important things.

These numbers are only through July. Think he's using donated private planes since?https://www.axios.com/buttigieg-private-air-travel-2020-campaign-66cc102c-57f1-4db0-9800-003a1c3e4199.html …

Not sure. But I don't think it matters. When you're running for the most powerful position in the world, spending a few million a year on travel so you can save hundreds of hours is a no brainer. Nearly every single serious candidate does it.

The problem isn't just private travel. A flippant "spending a few million a year on travel so ... " is. That makes sense to you - but not to average voters. Have to ask. Are you a member of Pete's National Investors Circle?

If you're running for president you likely have a high net worth, have high net worth friends and your time is far more valuable than the average American. Far to valuable to wait for flights when you have only 1 year to become the most powerful person in the world.

The president, or big candidates, is not average America. I do not think the average American should think "well I think it's strange to fly private, so that's bad." It's also strange to make decisions that impact millions of lives, decide on laws, lead 350m people.

So what makes sense to the average American is not what makes sense for incredibly valuable and leveraged people like the president or people who are very close to becoming president.

I (mostly) take no issue w/ folks who have a high net worth - don't try to pigeon hole me. Your comments speak to the disconnect between Pete and the people who would nominate him. And, based on those comments, I hear your transference about attitudes toward average Americans.

I am from Missouri. Very average upbringing. To say a president's time is more valuable to nearly every other American is nearly a fact.
