A few mentors have told me that you shouldn’t default to hiring even though most of your team will push for it. Instead you should figure out how to automate things. Today a good buddy just hit $2m in rev for the month of nov. the biz is 14 months old. He has 3 employees.

Counter argument: you shouldn’t default to not hiring either. Keeping headcount low in some cases will breed a toxic work environment and lower productivity. Great people will burn out, turn over, and then your “don’t hire, automate” mentality will make things even worse

Sometimes the best solution will be to hire a fantastic new employee. A great hire can add exponential value. There’s no one size fits all solution. Know your business and keep an open mind.
