There will be streaks when it's no big deal and I can do it. Other times when I just can't do it. Won't travel by plane for months and will dread when I finally have to. Now's one of those times!

I don’t hate flying, but I’m curious what do you believe might happen? Are you afraid the plane might crash or is it something about being inside the cabin?
-
Inside the cabin. I don't fear the plane crashing. Just get panic attacks in tight, enclosed spaces where I can't get out of if I want to. Zero control over the situation.

Gotta try some VR exposure therapy to start with and move it up from there. GF is a psychologist who has had success with this approach.

That's a cool idea.

There’s a great, practical exercise in this book. It’s a visualization but it’s fantastic — works especially well for anticipatory anxiety. Highly recommend a read! Writers are practicing psychiatrists.pic.twitter.com/AtHYnirUEe

I have to be unconscious...here's an interesting tid bit: I wasn't afraid of flying at all until I was 31, after I'd had my son. Went to the Dr. For flying meds and she said she hears this from women a lot!

Try hypnosis. I was skeptical but worked incredibly well for me. My fear was so bad I got the train from Hk to Cambodia and another time Croatia to London! Now love flying again.
