      You must be limiting search to most desirable and high priced blocks. Even in San Fran $900K gets you 1,800 Sq. ft., detached house, 3BR, 2BA. Only top 2% of US wage earners make $350,000 or more a year. I refuse to feel sorry for any of them who choose to live beyond means.

          i said 'detached house' -- as in, not a row house. But I am done being your real estate agent. I think the point is made. Anyone -- ANYONE -- who can't make ends meet on $350K -- which is SIX TIMES THE AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD INCOME IN USA -- is a whiner who is living beyond means.
