Many people, not me, would say Hersheys and Mars are shitty products.

WAG private label products are not Comcast, Time Warner or the Airlines. As someone who sold to WAG, both the brand and the private label, private label is far more profitable for both WAG and the manufacturer. There are little to no marketing costs.
