Product *and* distribution. The answer isn’t one over the other.

A weak or poor quality product with great distribution will still fail.

There are many examples of this not being true.

Just look at most of the food in the grocery store. Huge successful companies that I’d love to own. But often shitty ingredients, taste bad, and most buyers would say is inferior if equally price but better products were at the store.

Now look at the inventory turns, retail knows their profits right down to the cubic inch of shelf space and if your product isn't cutting it, its rapidly discontinued. It's a harsh world, don't believe me, try launching a CPG and try to get retail distribution.

Right. My point is great distribution and bad product can easily beat bad Dustro and great product.

Not true. Ecommerce can and will drive a great product and drive retail demand and retail stocking. A bad or poor product with retail distribution will get killed and discontinued by retail regardless of great marketing

Both can be true. Regardless, what we are saying is entirely subjective, so there's no "untrue" or "true", but I think we can all agree that there are shit products out there that make huge $$$ due to worldclass distribution.

Name the CPG product Comcast, Time Warner or the airlines sell at Walmart, CVS, WAG, Costco and BJs. Your point of reference is from 1990, not 2005 forward.
