Do I have any follows who spend 6 months a year in a low tax state and the other 6 in NY or California?

Sure sure. But I'd for sure do 6 months in Austin and 6 in SF because I love both cities. Or Summer in NYC and winter in Florida. The tax issue would be an additional benefit.
