Amazed to learn that people pay thousands for special-edition Jordans. Wouldn't it just be cheaper to make your own copy of them or just hire someone to make them?

Nahh, having Original Jordans in mint condition are much more valuable in they eyes of a collector. Having a replica will get you roasted on by the entire sneaker community. No Fakes allowed. They may look the same, even might have better quality, but it's not the original shoe.
Just seems crazy to spend that money for a thing that you wear and can get stepped on.

True True, But the die hard collectors treat the sneaker as an art piece. Some never even wear them and hold them for future value.
