Anyone here own an Airstream? They look fun. How are they to own?

Yep, we have a 2015 30' Classic -- lived in it full time while traveling/investing. Still have it now and love it. Happy to share details and tips anytime you're up for it. TLDR: DO IT.

Did you buy new or used? What I want: a smaller one, maybe 23 feet? The cloud looks cool. I want it to hang out in, almost as a lounge/office in my driveway and to take on weekend trips to Yosemite or on overnight cycling trips.

I bought new, mostly because I knew I was going to haul the thing 50k+ miles per year and wanted a warranty. I upgraded to a huge lithium battery bank, solar, etc to be able to go offgrid. The Airstreams are basically Faraday cages so you'll need to think about wifi/LTE inside.

Amazing. Why this vs a van?

1. I wanted to be able to unhitch and drive my truck normally. 2. If Airstreams were good enough for Apollo-mission astronauts, they're good enough for me. 3. 30' is about the longest length I could go while still getting into most national parks. 4. There is no #4

I just saw a photo...your truck is a raptor? Last night online I built a raptor and airstream then showed them to my gf and said "this is what we're getting."

Yep, I put 140,000+ towing miles on my 2014 Raptor. Now using a 2018.
