Does Vox make a profit each year?
If most NYC media companies are unionizing due to “uncompetitive wages” then doesn’t that mean the market has decided what a competitive wage is? And if these people keep working there then the wages ARE competitive.

Go work at Google or Facebook. Most of these people are highly educated. The ad supported page view driven, particularly if you’re in an expensive area, cannot support high wages.

Another idea: put the company’s daily CPM on a big board and everyone’s daily pageviews and salary next to it. This way workers can see how much revenue they are worth and get paid rates based on that. If they are super profitable workers, they should demand more.

This would depend on the metrics used to calculate a “competitive wage.”pic.twitter.com/O2yBi1CaEQ

Ok so they should move to Missouri. I think St. Louis, my home town, would love to have them.
