Fantastic open access paper on in . The best part? A box inset on how the Museum of Southwestern Biology's and Mammal collections helped identify Hantavirus in 1993. Collections are important for research, education, and human health.

A cool article I handled as editor has been published today . The piece debunks some sticky folk knowledge about screen time and sleep in teenagers. "Teenage sleep and technology engagement across the week"

Our new article about the mitochondrial genome of the Beroe forskalii is out! 🎉 In this paper we showed that ctenophores have weird mitochondrial genes that seem to encode novel proteins, and we also developed some bioinformatics tools 🧬. Thread below.

I'm happy to see that the A. jimmadseni name has finally been formalised. A truly wonderful set of specimens, congrats to Chure & Loewen! On a nostalgic level, it's also nice to see that good ol' "Big Al" has at last been formally assigned to a species!

Really like the new Chure & Loewen paper on Allosaurus jimmadseni, a species name which has been kicking round for years. Has taller lacrimal horns & more blade-like pmax-nasal crests than A. fragilis, shown nicely in these oblique skull views...
