@kellyblaus @lexforchange one thing I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is what would happen if large groups of women actively begun “hunting” incels, much in the way that SPLC treats hate groups

I think of it as gender-based “broken windows” theory to not attack the most dangerous behaviors (violence, etc.) but to expose the early-stage ideation when it’s most visible and most connected with public identity

The hard part here (identification is easy) is what track of counseling and remediation would be appropriate for their feelings of entitlement and hate (misdirected low self-esteem, PTSD etc.)

They’re clearly focusing sexual energy to solve their emotional problems (sadness, loneliness, fear, low self worth, etc.) Can you imagine what men would do if there were groups of female incels shooting up buildings?

There would be something like an online bounty hunt for these “deranged women” and all early-stage acting out behaviors would be mercilessly tracked like baseball statistics

Are there any hate groups or women’s rights groups that currently collaborate with law enforcement on an incel registry? If not, let me know and I can set up the database architecture to make this happen. I’m not advocating any minority report style “thoughtcrime” stuff

But anyone who makes an implicit or explicit threat towards another group and puts it in writing, even anonymously, that shit needs to be tracked and acted upon. Thoughts?

I’m no expert on incels, gender theory or even database architecture but there are certain things that male allies need to do, table stakes, to help keep women safe. Removing assault weapons from incels is not enough.

Would love
@LuxAlptraum take on this but I wouldn’t dare ask her to write it for free. (Lux, if you want me to go pitch the story I’ll do it.)Show this thread
