THREAD: I’ve waited to respond to Maxime Bernier's comments to see if @AndrewScheer would do the responsible thing & denounce these divisive words. He has not.
To everyone that belongs to a diverse community – who's been told you don’t belong – I’ve been in your shoes, I get it.

I'm deeply disappointed in
@AndrewScheer. His refusal to denounce these divisive comments sends a dangerous message. Children of diverse backgrounds across Canada pick up on these messages. Right now, they need to hear that their country wants more of themselves, not less.Show this threadThanks. Twitter will use this info to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I am not an immigrant. I am a 11th generation Canadian.
-
En fait mes ancêtres sont des Français conquis par l'Angleterre pour me dire que je suis maintenant Canadien.
-
strange isn't though... the suffering of others in Canadian history is never brought up when these politicians divide Canadian people into groups so they can pit us against each other ...
-
That's just it, they don't want you to remember Canadian history or the history of your ancestors in building this country. It's part of
#Trudeau's Global agenda in making us global citizens & no longer Canadians. It's why he says Canadians have no identity.

People born here are not immigrants. Stop cheapening Canadian identity and citizenship.

Diversity is four dead women in a canal. It's Muslims wanting to establish Muslim only communities. It's gun crime in our big cities and innocent people being killed. It's skyrocketing housing prices. It's the stripmining of our flora and fauna by people who don't give a damn.

So in your support of Khalistan project , is there any room for Diversity there, or Diversity belongs only in Canada
-
The Khalistan "project" seems more like a civil war, when the assasination of a nation's Prime Minister is involved. Why is that mess unsolved in the nation of Canada?https://www.quora.com/Who-killed-Indira-Gandhi-and-why-Does-it-have-any-connection-with-Rajiv-Gandhis-assassination/answer/Arunachalam-S-14?ch=10&share=218bb45d&srid=ciBp …

Uh, I was born here, my parents were born here, my grandmere was born here. Pretty sure that means I’m a Canadian. Immigrants can become Canadian citizens bit until they do, they ARE immigrants. Don’t devalue what it means to be Canadian.

Such a falsehood. Europeans settled and colonized Canada over the last 400 years. They created the judicial, parliament and government of Canada based on European Christian principles. Immigrants are the ones establishing themselves into this Established country of citizens

"Diversity is knowing that beyond Indigenous Peoples, all Canadians are immigrants." Yes! Exactly this sentence!

-
If we were actually taught indigenous history, some native nations were immigrants and some originated in the Americas —- but again, we paint indigenous history with this broadbrush
-
Actually they all came across the Bering strait land bridge from Asia.

from the oak island findings looks like n america was a free for all

Stop trying to redefine words. Look up the word immigrant. It means someone from a foreign country. I"M CANADIAN. I WAS BORN HERE. I AM NOT AN IMMIGRANT. I welcome all immigrants who want to come to Canada and become a Canadian and make Canada an even better country.
