THREAD: Who is Israel’s next Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett? Bennett is a far-right ultranationalist who staunchly opposes Palestinian statehood or self-determination of any kind in Palestine/Israel.

On the back of ongoing US & Israeli efforts to bar Palestinian access to the ICC, Israel is now criminalizing , a key org leading on ICC work, in order to create even greater impunity for itself while undermining Palestinian efforts to pursue justice on the int'l level.

The apartheid regime’s labeling of award-winning human rights groups as terrorist organizations—just because they speak truths about Israel’s violence & its human impact—is grossly antidemocratic and dangerous. The U.S. must end funding for human rights abuses. Enough.

We'll save you the time Ned: They did it because they want to prevent Palestinians from reporting the truth about Israel's apartheid rule and shedding light on the crimes they endure under it.

Emboldened by a refusal from powerful nations to impose any consequences for Israel's crimes over decades, these designations are just the latest in Israel’s increasing attacks on anyone voicing opposition to its apartheid policies.

Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have called the move an “attack by the Israeli government on the international human rights movement” which signifies an “alarming escalation.”

If the designation is not reversed, it will mean that Israel will be able to not only forcibly shut down the human rights groups, but also arrest and detain their staff, members, and others involved.

This follows the shuttering of the Palestinian Health Work Committees this summer for the same vague and unsubstantiated reasons (). Hard to see this as anything but an attack on Palestinian civil society.

Israel today labeled six Palestinian human rights organizations as "terrorist." The list included (Defense for Children), an organization that works on documenting all forms of abuse committed against children and minors. Let's honor DCI by spreading their work.

Labelling effective NGOs “terrorists” is a textbook way to evade accountability for human rights violations—and an affront to everyone who cares about peace. There must be immediate consequences from the US and the international community for this brazen act.

But once again, Palestinians are being denied the freedom to decide their own futures. One-sided Trump era policies shouldn’t be blocking vital services for Palestinians, including assistance with travel, education, and more.
