    ICTJ has worked for many years in Lebanon to promote youth knowledge and discussion of the civil war and its causes. The War As I See It asked young people to use their cameras to explore their understanding of the Lebanese civil war as it shapes their country’s past and present.

    The Lebanese civil war began on April 13, 1975. While the harms caused by the civil war are still visible, the official denial of the past has left a hole in the historical record and prevented people from fully understanding the war and its causes, especially young people.
