the random rain in Zelda is bad. It doesn't add anything to have a thing where you arbitrarily can't start (or carry) fire or climb.

it'd be interesting if it made you rethink / do things differently, but generally it's just "well gotta wait this out to finish my quest"

exception being places where it's always raining and thus an interesting level design decision

I think it's incredibly interesting that they chose to implement it this way. Giving the simulation preference over game design.

less fun but more real. Arguably a good decision because the rest of the game has enough fun to go around.

i think "well let's add this one thing for realism even though it's not fun" doesn't make sense in a fantasy (or any?) game :/

like I think having it always rain in certain areas is cool. Having it sometimes rain (ex. for the blue fire?) is super annoying

game is massive enough to always support that, and I was happy with the reminder to not care abt. progression
