I've got a sound whose waveform is as big as be without clipping, but it's almost totally inaudible on top of music or other sounds. ...why?

@theBanov Different bit-depth messing up playback? Or high amplitude due largely to v high or low frequencies not well reproduced by spkrs?
@somebodyweknow maybe i need to do it harder but it's a hit sound with some good bass and I don't to remove all of its bite...
