I've got a sound whose waveform is as big as be without clipping, but it's almost totally inaudible on top of music or other sounds. ...why?

@theBanov Different bit-depth messing up playback? Or high amplitude due largely to v high or low frequencies not well reproduced by spkrs?
@somebodyweknow bit depth is the same; played with eq to boost higher frequencies but it still sounds muffled next to everything else. >:/

@theBanov Wait, did you try *cutting* high and/or low frequencies to see if that then leaves you with room at the top to amplify further? -
@somebodyweknow tried it and squeezed 4 dB out of it, so, much better. I feel like it lost some character but at least you can hear it now! - Antwoorden weergeven
