can you think of any eclectic/leftfield film scores where they eschewed genre, and as a result, the film is stronger because of this. eg: a sci-fi film with choral music. a western with reggae, etc I am not asking for your favourite scores, or "weird" scores. Juxtaposition.
This might be a boring answer to you but Kill Bill vol. 1 is iconic for its east-meets-west clash that follows through into the score/soundtrack aesthetic
this doesn't count for me, because aside form being popular movies we've all seen, tarantino is making pastiches of other genres, so they're inherently eclectic. Im not looking for examples for the sake of conversation, Im trying to broaden my spectrum of new films
